Fundraising Adventures 2018

Our NCT friends Claire Wordley-White & Katie Habashi run the Goodwood 10k on a freezing cold morning, raising a magnificent £444.36.

Having met Claire and Katie at our NCT classes we have remained in touch and have really appreciated their support. We send love to them and their families who we know have been touched by Puck’s death.

Sarah Pointon smashes the Goodwood “Just Walk” charity challenge.

In May, Jo’s cousin Sarah Pointon took on the  “Just Walk” charity challenge, a 45km route from Goodwood racecourse taking in the gorgeous countryside of West Sussex. This was undertaken in EXTREME wet weather conditions and Sarah also suffered a really bad attack of sciatica leading up to and during the event. She was walking with some amazing friends who definitely played a huge part in helping her battle through and reach the finish line – thank you!  Sarah, we salute you for taking on the rain gods and raising an incredible £875.

Martha’s JOGLE 22nd August-4th September 2018

In August our amazing friend Martha Kelly took on the epic challenge of cycling solo from John ‘o Groats to Lands End. When Martha told us that she was planning to complete this journey to raise funds for Puck we were totally gobsmacked- it’s a LONG way, especially when you’re doing it on your own (and I hope Martha won’t mind us saying that she’s not a seasoned cyclist!). We tracked Martha’s progress religiously as she pedalled her way south and felt as though we went through the highs and lows with her. It was a gruelling cycle which saw her covering up to 90(?) miles/10 hours a day, up some pretty large hills, and one which entailed both massive physical and mental battles. We know that the beautiful scenery helped Martha along her way and definitely reminded her why she had taken on the challenge. She made it from JoG to Lands End in just 14 days (WOWZERS) and raised a huge £1,800. A massive thank you to all those who supported her by donating, but also to Marth’s wonderful family and friends who provided food, beds and moral support/messaged/called/cycled (a special mention here to Ed and Fergs) and all the random people she met along the way who spurred her on and gave to the cause.

Please check out the link to Martha’s blog below to see some truly beautiful scenic pics and to get a feel for just how big an undertaking this challenge was. Martha- thank you so much for putting yourself through this in memory of our little wolf cub. You rock X
